Personally, I'm trying to get the point of arguing the philosophical background for why marijuana is a gateway drug. Here you have a drug, and it does certain things to you mentally and physically, and has certain observable phenomena. Regardless of whether one says the substance itself is physically and chemically addictive or not is not in the discussion of whether or not, statistically, people are more likely to take more drugs after first taking pot. Which they are. That was the point of that drugfreeworld.org Marijuana article.
